There are three center fielders in free agency at the moment right now with a high potential to make an impact in 2017. This trio includes Ian Desmond, Dexter Fowler, and Carlos Gomez. The three had very different 2016 seasons with Desmond and Fowler shining in the first half so well that a weaker second half didn’t stop them from having career years. Gomez, meanwhile, struggled so much that the Houston Astros eventually released him. He did end up with Desmond on the Texas Rangers where he did contribute to a few victories.
