Seven months ago now, when everything was new and every non-roster spring training invite had a chance, Bronson Arroyo carried intrigue. The veteran right-hander and eclectic clubhouse chemist had decided to try his comeback with his former manager Dusty Baker and the Nationals. For a few weeks, as he was mixed into the rotation during the earliest spring training games, it seemed he might even compete for a spot in the rotation — if, of course, all went well.
