Mason Katz had played just 19 games this season because of a hamstring injury, and after he aggravated it again while playing for Double A Springfield, they decided to let him go home to rehab so he could be 100 percent next spring., but while on the flight to New Orleans he began to realize the impact the flooding was having on Baton Rouge. Katz has lived in Baton Rouge in the off-season since graduating from LSU in 2013. When he got home he decided to join the flood relief efforts doing all he could, while being mindful of his injury.
