Attendance Is Down Around The Majors; Balance Of Power; Adam Wainwright High On The RBI Charts

On Wednesday, there were nine games in the major leagues that attracted under 20,000 fans, with five of them drawing under 15,000. Some of these latter contests were played in non-contending cities such as Cincinnati, Oakland, Chicago (White Sox) and St. Petersburg, Fla. But one was played in Cleveland, which has been leading the American League Central Division for some time now but drew only 12,063 (not counting bugs) for an important game with Houston.
