Former Cardinals Playing In MLB 8-22-16: Jason Heyward Hits A Two-Run Homer; Steve Cishek Strikes Out One Over One Hitless/Scoreless Inning For The Hold; Coco Crisp Doubles



David Freese (former St. Louis-Pittsburgh) started at third base and batted fifth.  1-for-3 with one walk and one strikeout.

Houston beat Pittsburgh 3-1

Daniel Descalso (former St. Louis-Colorado) at shortstop and moved to first base, batting seventh.  1-for-4, one fielding error, and assisted in two double plays.

Milwaukee beat Pittsburgh 4-2

Coco Crisp (former New Haven-Oakland) started as designated hitter and batted leadoff.  1-for-4 with one double.

Cleveland beat Oakland 1-0

Jason Heyward (former St. Louis-Chicago-N) started in right field and batted sixth.  1-for-4 with one home run, two two-out RBIs, one run, one strikeout, and one fielding error.

Brett Wallace (former Memphis-San Diego) entered late in the game at third base and batted ninth.  1-for-2 with one strikeout.
Edwin Jackson (former St. Louis-San Diego) started and pitched five innings.  He allowed seven hits, five earned runs, three home runs, four walks (one intentional), and struck two out for the losing decision (3-4).  One sacrifice at the plate.  (p-s:103-58)(g/f:5-2)
