Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League 7-13-16: Niko Vasquez Collects One Single, Three Doubles, & Two RBIs; Eugenio Velez Doubles & Drives In Two Runs; Richy Pedroza Singles Twice & Knocks In Two Runs



Richy Pedroza (former Peoria-Aguascalientes) started at shortstop and batted leadoff.  2-for-4 with two RBIs, one sac fly, and one stolen base.

Aguascalientes beat Oaxaca 9-9 in 10 innings

Daric Barton (former Peoria-Puebla) started at first base and batted fifth.  0-for-2 with one run and two walks (one intentional).

Puebla beat Saltillo 5-1

Luis Garcia (former New Haven-Yucatan) started as designated hitter and batted fifth.  1-for-2 with one walk.

Ivan Maldonado (former MiLB tryout-Reynosa) started and pitched seven innings.  He allowed seven hits, five earned runs, two home runs, three walks, and struck one out for the losing decision (2-9).  (p-s:91-59)(g/f:7-7)

Jose Martinez (former Springfield-Veracruz) started at second base and batted fifth.  1-for-3 with one home run, one RBI, one run, one walk, and assisted in two double plays.

Tijuana beat Veracruz 4-2

Niko Vasquez (former Springfield-Laguna) started at shortstop and batted sixth.  4-for-4 with three doubles, two two-out RBIs, two runs, and assisted in one double play.

Laguna beat Carmen 9-0

Ivan Bellazetin (former MiLB tryout-Tabasco) started at second base and batted ninth.  0-for-2 with two strikeouts.

Mexico beat Tabasco 5-1
