Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League 7-22-16: Jose Martinez Collects Two Singles, One Walk, & Two RBIs; Eliezer Alfonzo Singles, Doubles, Walks, & Drives In One Run; Daric Barton Singles twice, Walks, & Knocks In One Run



Daric Barton (former Peoria-Puebla) started at first base and batted fifth.  2-for-3 with one two-out RBI, one run, one intentional walk, one hit by pitch, one strikeout, one throwing error, and assisted in three double plays.

Puebla beat Mexico 7-5

Ivan Bellazetin (former MiLB tryout-Tabasco) entered late in the game in centerfield and batted second.  One run at the plate.

Richy Pedroza (former Peoria-Aguascalientes) started at shortstop and batted leadoff.  0-for-5 with one strikeout and assisted in one double play.

Tabasco beat Aguascalientes 4-2

Jose Martinez (former Springfield-Veracruz) started at second base and batted third.  2-for-4 with two RBIs (one w/two-outs) and one walk.

Eliezer Alfonzo (former Peoria-Saltillo) started at first base and batted third.  2-for-4 with one double, one two-out RBI, one walk, two strikeouts, and one fielding error.

Saltillo beat Veracruz 5-4

Niko Vasquez (former Springfield-Laguna) started at shortstop and batted sixth.  0-for-4 and assisted in two double plays.

Iker Franco (former Springfield-Quintana Roo) started at first base and batted seventh.  1-for-2 with two walks.

Quintana Roo beat Laguna 3-2

Eugenio Velez (former Memphis-Monclova) started in left field and batted leadoff.  1-for-3 with one walk, one strikeout, and one caught stealing.

Luis Garcia (former New Haven-Yucatan) started as designated hitter and batted fifth.  0-for-5 with two strikeouts and grounded into one double play.
