Last year, I watched Aledmys Diaz play for the Springfield Cardinals in North Little Rock and didn't leave the park that impressed. His fielding was okay and his bat wasn't exceptional. Here was a guy making 2 million a season around a clubhouse full of players making around 24,000 dollars and living with Springfield families. He wasn't going to be handed anything. Some Cardinals pundits didn't see him as much more than a career utility player.
