Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League 6-28-16: Daric Barton & Luis Garcia Each Hit Solo Home Runs; Eugenio Velez Doubles Twice & Walks; Maikel Cleto Strikes Out One Over One Hitless/Scoreless Inning For The Hold

Daric Barton (former Peoria-Puebla) started at first base and batted sixth.  1-for-5 with one home run, one RBI, one run, one strikeout, and assisted in one double play.

Puebla beat Monterrey 5-3 in 12 innings

Eugenio Velez (former Memphis-Monclova) started in left field and batted leadoff.  2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, and one walk.

Monclova beat Tabasco 7-1

Jose Martinez (former Springfield-Veracruz) started at second base and batted sixth.  0-for-3 with one walk and one fielding error.

Niko Vasquez (former Sprignfield-Laguna) started at shortstop and batted eighth.  1-for-2 with one double, three runs, two walks, and assisted in three double plays.
Maikel Cleto (former St. Louis-Laguna) entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, and struck one out for the hold (4).  (p-s:11-6)(g/f:1-0)

Laguna beat Veracruz 10-3

Iker Franco (former Springfield-Quintana Roo) started at catcher and batted seventh.  1-for-3 at the plate.

Quintana Roo beat Tijuana 5-2

Eliezer Alfonzo (former Peoria-Mexico) started as designated hitter and batted seventh.  1-for-3 at the plate.

Luis Garcia (former New Haven-Yucatan) started as designated hitter and batted fifth.  1-for-4 with one home run, one RBI, and one run.

Yucatan beat Mexico 7-0
