The overview: manager Mike Matheny rearranged his lineup, moving Aldemys Diaz into the No. 2 hole, and placing the erstwhile No. 2 hitter, Stephen Piscotty into the cleanup spot. At least for one night the new-look lineup rocked, scoring 13 runs with 12 hits including four doubles and a homer. The Cardinals had been relatively quiet offensively in recent days, scoring 15 runs (total) in their previous five games. The eruption provided cover for Cards starting pitcher Michael Wacha who couldn’t hold a 4-0 lead in getting pummeled for eight hits and six earned runs in his four innings.
