A year ago, Matt Bowman was a pitcher for the the Las Vegas 51s, a minor league team in the Mets organization. He was having a bad season, and started asking himself existential questions (that many 20-somethings are familiar with) of the “what am I doing with my life?” variety. They were made all the more pressing as he looked at his friends his age, who were well into their first jobs and had begun to move up corporate ladders.
