Strikeouts Are On The Rise Around The League; Diamondbacks Statement; Lou Brock Upbeat

Those who have watched Cardinals hitters flail at an unprecedented rate this year may be happy to know that big leaguers are striking out at a record rate through the first tenth of the season. Both National League and American League teams are whiffing at a rate of approximately 8.1 strikeouts a game, compared to the 2014 National League high of 7.9 per game (it was 7.89 last year) and the major league mark at the end of a season of 7.7 in both 2014 and 2015.
