With money available due to failing to re-sign a certain someone, John Mozeliak decided to put some of it to good use. Kolten Wong was signed to a five year extension worth $25.5 million in a contract that works out for both sides. The Cardinals get five years where they have a quality second baseman and Wong gets a good sum of money. This new contract covers Wong’s arbitration years and it would make him a Cardinal up through the age of 31.
