A Boston Globe report earlier this week said that the Cardinals are targeting Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed to replace the injured Jhonny Peralta. Ken Rosenthal reported that someone familiar with the Diamondbacks would rather trade Ahmed than Chris Owings.
