Cardinals Trade Jon Jay To Padres For Jedd Gyorko & Cash Considerations

The St. Louis Cardinals announced this morning from Baseball's Winter Meetings that they have acquired infielder Jedd Gyorko (pronounced Jerk-oh) and cash considerations from the San Diego Padres in exchange for outfielder Jon Jay.

Not seeing an ideal fit on the free-agent market, the Cardinals addressed their need for a utility infielder by acquiring Jedd Gyorko from the Padres on Tuesday in exchange for outfielder Jon Jay.
