Friday morning, the St. Louis Cardinals presented qualifying offers to Jason Heyward and John Lackey. Just business. The Heyward deal is a no-brainer. If he decides to bolt for top dollar, the Cards will at least get a draft pick in return. Don't think these draft picks are crap picks. The Cards got Michael Wacha and Stephen Piscotty with these picks in the past five years. It is something that teams pay more attention to as the years go by and deals are orchestrated.
