Had the Cardinals not been in the playoffs, Yadier Molina would have undergone hand surgery a couple of weeks ago. Instead the backstop went under the knife Thursday afternoon and will be held out of baseball activity for 8-12 weeks, GM John Mozeliak announced in his end of the season press conference Thursday.
