The Cardinals had their chance in Game 3, catching Cubs’ ace Jake Arietta when he finally went off form after one of the most absurdly dominant stretches of pitching by a starter in MLB history. As a team the Cardinals took their shot and missed, all because Michael Wacha and the STL pitchers could no nothing to contain the Cubs’ shock-and-awe power. When you give up six home runs in a game, you’re going down.
