The Cardinals made a number of roster moves on Wednesday afternoon, and they also announced that left-hander Tyler Lyons will make the start tonight against the Nationals in place of Michael Wacha.

Shortly before pregame media sessions began, the Cardinals announced Tyler Lyons would be starting in the series finale Wednesday over Michael Wacha. Mike Matheny had spoken throughout the season about targeting moments to rest the dynamic righthander, and given the Cardinals’ 8-5 comeback win Tuesday, the final game against the Nationals was a good opportunity.
