For much of the season the Cardinals offense was justifiably viewed as a potential liability that could bring the team down, either in the NL Central race or the postseason. St. Louis pitching has been sensational all year, but the lack of run support was alarming, with the team losing 14 times despite allowing two earned runs or less.
