One of the things the Cardinals coaches have learned about rookie Stephen Piscotty in his 35 games in the majors is his ability to intelligently deconstruct a pitcher and modify his approach, pitcher to pitcher, situation to situation. But when manager Mike Matheny found him during batting practice Friday, the approach he wanted to discuss had nothing to do with Piscotty at the plate.
