The Cardinals have played 117 games this season but none against the Giants, whom they will meet six times in the next two weeks. In both the 2012 and 2014 National League championship series, the Giants eliminated the Cardinals before moving on to win the World Series. But this year the Giants have spent just two days in first place in the NL Western Division and none since May 29.
