In the early 1960s, Harry Carey, the radio voice of the Cardinals baseball team, moved to a home in St. Louis close to Bill Knight’s parents. The Careys and Knights soon became close friends though their mutual friend, baseball manager Leo Durocher, and enjoyed drinks together at Busch’s Grove, a nearby restaurant and bar dating back to days of stage coaches in the 1860s.
