When the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters had the tying run on second base in a game earlier this week, they dispatched their best weapon off the bench, pinch hitter Shohei Ohtani. Not wanting to mess around, the Orix Buffaloes promptly called for the intentional walk. They got the next hitter to ground out and went on to win the game.
