Former Cardinals Draft Selections Playing In Summer Collegiate Leagues 7-17-15; Anthony Herron, Jr. Strikes Out Seven & Allows One Run Over Six & Two-Thirds Innings; Brock Asher Collects Two Singles, One Double, Two Walks, & Two RBIs; Justin Bellinger Walks Twice

Coastal Plain League:

Justin Bellinger (former 2014 draft selection-Duke-Asheboro) started at first base and batted seventh.  0-for-2 with two runs, two walks, and two strikeouts.

Asheboro beat Florence 11-7


Northwoods League:

Joe Gillette (former 2014 draft selection-Oregon St-Eau Claire) started in centerfield and batted sixth.  1-for-3 with two strikeouts and one caught stealing.
Anthony Herron (former 2014 draft selection-Jefferson-Eau Claire) started and pitched 6.2 innings.  He allowed five hits, one earned run, two walks, threw one wild pitch, and struck seven out for the losing decision.  (p-s:98-61)

Prospect League:

A.J. Kruzel (former 2013 draft selection-Henderson St-Quincy) entered late in the game at second base.

Butler beat Quincy 5-4 in 13 innings


Southern California Collegiate Baseball League:
