Texas first baseman Mitch Moreland has been targeted by a few teams. But the Rangers have no interest in moving him. Magadan has done a terrific job unlocking Moreland’s potential. “I think it’s a few things,” Magadan said. “First off, he’s healthy. He came off ankle surgery, then a bone spur in his elbow. But now we’ve been able to get him to stop thinking about mechanics in his swing. He’s worked hard on his setup. He’s as strong as anybody in the game, so when he’s still [with his head] and he uses his hands, he identifies pitches better and can hit the ball a long way.”
