The New York Mets are one of the best teams in the world at doing things poorly. This is the franchise that once sent out a news release about the firing of its manager at 3 a.m., moved in the outfield fences of its six-year-old stadium twice and is still paying Bobby Bonilla more than $1 million a year for the next two decades even though Bonilla hasn’t appeared in an MLB game since 2001.
