Though the news on Kazmir appears relatively optimistic, the A’s could be without left fielder Coco Crisp until after the All-Star break. Crisp had his injured neck examined by Los Angeles-based specialist Dr. Robert Watkins, and Watkins recommended an epidural injection. Melvin said Crisp will probably sit out baseball activity for a month, which means he would not begin working his way back into playing shape until around the start of July.
