Series Preview: Cardinals @ Reds (April 10-13, 2015)

Cincinnati starter Jason Marquis’ last big-league start was against the Cardinals when, as a member of the San Diego Padres, he suffered a 9-6 loss. That was on July 19, 2013. Marquis underwent Tommy John elbow surgery not long after that and, unable to get a big-league job last year, pitched nine games for Philadelphia Phillies minor-league affiliates. Now 36, Marquis, who won 42 games in three seasons for the Cardinals from 2004-2006, made the Reds as a non-roster pitcher this spring after leading the Cactus League in innings pitched and posting a 2.90 earned run average.
