The International Prospect Series has good intentions. In a few years, the four-day event, run by Major League Baseball at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, has the potential to become a marquee event for international scouts. For now, it’s still more marketing event than showcase, as MLB wrestles with balancing its short-term goals and its broader agenda of preparing for an international draft.
