The St. Louis Cardinals announced this evening that they did not tender a 2015 contract offer to infielder Daniel Descalso and he thus becomes a free-agent.

As had been anticipated, the Cardinals tendered contracts to all of their arbitration-eligible players except Daniel Descalso before Tuesday's deadline. By choosing not to move forward in the arbitration process with Descalso, the Cardinals have freed up the utility infielder to negotiate with any club.

Infielder Daniel Descalso, who was on four straight league championship series teams and two World Series clubs with the Cardinals in his four full big-league seasons, was not tendered a 2015 contract and immediately became a free agent, the club announced late tonight.
