The moment the offseason began, the collective of Cardinal Nation clamored for one thing: power. Fans dreamed of trading for Giancarlo Stanton before he signed the largest contract in MLB history to stay with the Miami Marlins. People clamored for signing Cuban outfielder Yasmany Tomas, who just recently agreed to a six-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Some pined for a trade for Jose Bautista from the Toronto Blue Jays or Justin Upton of the Atlanta Braves. Others even wanted to pick up a free agent such as Nelson Cruz or Torii Hunter, guys who belong more in a DH role than right field for a potential National League Champion.
