In hiring their fourth assistant hitting coach in the last four seasons, the Cardinals again went outside the organization to land former batting champ and St. Louis-area native Bill Mueller. General manager John Mozeliak announced the hire at the end of a press conference he held on Monday to address the team's four-player trade with the Braves.
