In three appearances runs with the Tigers, shortstop Jhonny Peralta was never better than he was in 2013, when he keyed a victory in an elimination game of the American League Division Series with a three-run blast and hit .333/.353/.545 with five extra-base hits over 10 games. The Tigers' inability to move past the Red Sox in the AL Championship Series could hardly be pinned on him.
