The two teams in opposite leagues and on opposite sides of Missouri shared one common trait on their way to baseball's postseason. The Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals finished last in their leagues in home runs, and combined the two Missouri clubs had fewer homers (200) than the team KC will face in the American League championship series, Baltimore (211).
