Oscar Taveras remains out of the Cardinals’ lineup for a second straight day, though manager Mike Matheny described the decision to start Shane Robinson more as a nod to Robinson’s contributions on Thursday than a slight at Taveras. Matheny singled out Robinson’s defensive play in the first inning to rob Tommy Medica of an extra-base hit and then his throw to keep the potential tying run from scoring in the ninth as game-changers.
