Catcher A.J. Pierzynski was recently approached in the St. Louis Cardinals clubhouse with a request for a national radio interview, to which he politely declined. Talking about his trade to a new team or whatever the intended subject matter wasn’t the issue, in fact Pierzynski volunteered to speak another time, but that day he was catching–and catching up on his new pitching staff.
