After the St. Louis Cardinals named Mike Matheny as their manager in 2012, the former catcher picked up the phone and reached out to a number of contacts in and out of the game for advice and guidance about his new task. One of those calls went to Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle.
