Peter Bourjos, who homered in a reserve role on Tuesday, was in the Cardinals’ lineup in center field Wednesday night against Kansas City lefthander Jason Vargas. And manager Mike Matheny indicated Bourjos will see some playing time on this trip in interleague road games against lefthanders.

Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina entered Wednesday’s game nothing for 16 and finished the recent homestand at two for 26, but he struck out just one time in that stretch.
