Keeping an eye on advanced metrics is nice, and those will say that Michael Wacha is throwing his changeup a full eight percent less often than he did in 2013, according to FanGraphs.com. That’s a significant decrease, but a logical one as it coincides with a six percent spike in the frequency of his curveball, which is improving almost as quickly as Wacha burst onto the scene last summer.
