The results of Kolten Wong's MRI and the various opinions sought on the scan are back, and manager Mike Matheny said the infielder has a bruised shoulder, one that is around the cuff and causing the weakness. Wong received a cortisone injection and has been inactive for several days as the medication takes root and fights the irritation and inflammation in the joint.
