Kolten Wong's sore left shoulder flared up Thursday and the Cardinals second baseman left the game against the Royals in the bottom of the fifth inning. Daniel Descalso took his place.

On Tuesday, Kolten Wong said he jammed his shoulder late in the game after diving for a ground ball. The second baseman came out of Thursday’s game with some soreness.
