Peter Bourjos, who homered in a reserve role on Tuesday, is back in the Cardinals' lineup in center field tonight and Matt Holliday is not in the field. But Holliday, normally the Cardinals' left fielder, is occupying the designated hitter role as the Cardinals play their first interleague game on the road. Holliday is 12 for 52 (.231) with two homers as a DH.

As he forecasted, St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong is not in the starting lineup tonight as the team opens a two-game series in Kansas City. Wong jammed his shoulder during a defensive play in the 8th inning of Tuesday’s game. There was no dislocation, but he suggested he might not be ready to play until Thursday.
