Cardinals Starting Lineup 6-21-14

St. Louis Official Twitter

Adam Wainwright returns to the mound today after a 10-day layoff during which he mostly rested while trying to alleviate tendonitis in his pitching elbow. Wainwright threw seven shutout innings his last time out despite dealing with the issue. He enters the day ranked second in the National League with a 2.15 ERA and is looking to become the second NL pitcher to win 10 games.

It's been 11 days since Adam Wainwright tossed seven shutout innings for a win against Tampa Bay and the righty hasn't seen the mound since. Wainwright skipped his last start in an act of caution against the irritation in his right elbow, and he returns today in a game that could feature lots of zeros and be over quickly.
