First, an admission. I grew up in the southern suburbs of Chicago. I went to Comiskey Park and watched the White Sox have great designated hitters like Greg Luzinski, Ron Kittle, George Bell and Albert Belle. I enjoyed watching them hit (Luzinski and Kittle had many majestic shots that left Comiskey), but they had no place in the field. I am not anti-DH.
