Mark Ellis was in the starting lineup and had a stellar defensive play for the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, but with the recall and strong play of Kolten Wong, the veteran is now more often ready to be called upon off the bench—where he can regularly be seen standing near Manager Mike Matheny and the other coaches at the front of the dugout.
