Weather permitting — and it may not — Jon Jay will make his first appearance of the season in a Cardinals lineup today when he bats eighth and plays center field against the Cincinnati Reds and Homer Bailey.

The Reds have already announced that today’s game will not start as scheduled at 12:35 pm ET. The city has been soaked by rain all morning — and even though the rain has temporarily subsided, more storms are headed this way. We have been told to expect another update around 12:30. The gates to Great American Ball Park have opened, an indication that the Reds think there is at least a chance this game will be played.
