Allen H. “Bud” Selig, then owner of the Milwaukee Brewers and chairman of the Major League Executive Council, returned here as interim baseball commissioner after a Sept. 9, 1992 meeting in St. Louis. Commissioner Fay Vincent had been ousted in a no-confidence vote by the owners and Selig, as chairman of the council, was next in line.
