A win today would improve the Cardinals’ record to 14-11… And despite all the underachieving on offense and defense so far, that record would still equal the one the Cardinals had through 25 games a year ago. I shouldn’t need to remind you that the team went on to win the division and National League pennant following a similarly slow start.

Perhaps it's something in the atmosphere in the state but not only are the Cardinals last in home runs in the National League at 12, but the Kansas City Royals are last in the American League in home runs at nine.
