The Reds have been hit hard by disabling injuries, notably in their pitching staff, including closer Aroldis Champan, hit in the face by a line drive; righthander Mat Latos (knee); lefthanded reliever Sean Marshall; and righthanded reliever Jonathon Broxton. Former Cardinals infielder and outfielder Skip Schumaker (shoulder) also is on the DL.
